Midget History Lecture Jan. 16

TULSA, Okla. — Eighty-one years of midget racing history, lunch and door prizes, highlight the upcoming
inaugural Midget Auto Racing Historical Lecture taking place Jan. 16 during the Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Midget Nationals.
The sport celebrates its 81st anniversary during the 2014 acing season.
The event will be held in the Media Room located inside the credentials office, at the main entrance to the River Center Expo Center. A social time will be from 9:30 am to 10:00 am, with the discussion beginning at 10 am sharp. Lunch is included in the registration price with the event ending around 1:30 p.m.
Bryan Gapinski, well-known historian, publicist, writer and announcer in the sport for more than 30 years, will head the discussion.
Every attendee will also be guaranteed a door prize from the vast number of contributors including: books, apparel, DVD’s, and autographed items.
Cost to attend is $50 ($45 pre-registration by Dec 18). A portion of the proceeds will be contributed to the 2014 National Midget Driver of the Year point fund.
